Located between Nice and Monaco, the village of Eze is one of the most beautiful villages on the French Riviera. This village is unique in that it is situated on the Three Corniches: on the Grande Corniche, you can explore the Plateau de la Justice with its fitness trail lined with pine trees, the exceptional site of Mont Bastide, and the Fort de la Révère. Then there is the village of Eze on the Moyenne Corniche, with its sun-drenched narrow streets lined with craft workshops, its castle built by the d’Eze family, its exotic garden, and the Chapel of the White Penitents.
Famous figures have made their home here or stayed as holidaymakers, such as George Sand, and more recently Bono of the band U2. The most famous is Nietzsche, who gave his name to the path known as the ‘Nietzsche Trail’, which allows hikers to reach Eze Bord-de-mer.
This small seaside resort on the Lower Corniche enjoys a mild climate that fosters Mediterranean vegetation, which has also encouraged the growth of tourism: in the 19th century, the village became a popular resort for the people of Nice, who came here to bathe in the sea. To escape the massacres of the 1917 revolution, a Russian colony settled in Eze, which thus became an international destination.
Today, this place steeped in history is visited by many tourists but also by locals who appreciate this picturesque village, its seaside and the atmosphere it exudes. The particularly mild climate, lush vegetation, and proximity
