Beausoleil

This town, bordering Monaco, was founded in 1904 by Camille Blanc, who separated it from the municipality of La Turbie. It was to be called Monte-Carlo Supérieur, Mont-Fleuri or even Beauséjour, but … it took the name Beausoleil.

The Riviera Palace, built by the architect Georges Chedanne in the Belle Époque style, is one of the town’s highlights. With its ochre façades and blue majolica balustrades, its winter garden and its glass roof designed by Gustave Eiffel, the hotel served as an auxiliary military hospital during the First World War. Today, the hotel has been converted into majestic apartments.
